SBC messengers 'getting younger,' Dallas report showsDALLAS (BP) -- Nearly twice as many messengers attended the 2018 Southern Baptist Convention annual meeting when compared to the previous year, fueled by a strong Southern Baptist presence in Texas, the SBC Executive Committee has announced.
The latest registration report also showed increases in first-time attendees and those in the 18- to 39-year-old range.

After the funeral, families share a meal at churchMACON, Ga. (BP) -- Bellevue Baptist, like other churches, experiences its share of funerals. And in those times, they have a longstanding ministry of hosting grieving family members while providing an opportunity to celebrate a loved one's life.
"We open up the church and provide a meal for any church member who loses an immediate family member," said Jim Duggan, pastor of the church in Macon, Ga.
