Human trafficking: Opponents hold 'Night of Hope'NASHVILLE (BP) -- "The United States of America needs to use its moral leadership to end modern slavery around the world," U.S. Sen. Bob Corker said to applause at a "Night of Hope Nashville" on ending human trafficking.

Kan.-Neb. Baptists increase CP 3 percentBELLEVUE, Neb. (BP) -- Messengers to the annual meeting of the Kansas-Nebraska Convention of Southern Baptists (KNCSB) approved a 3 percent increase in the amount forwarded through the Cooperative Program for national and international missions and ministries.
The meeting, Oct. 10-11 at the Omaha-area LifeSpring Church in Bellevue, Neb., drew 214 messengers and 22 registered guests with a theme of "Better Together" based on Ecclesiastes 4:9-12. Read More
Mont. Southern Baptists 'Refresh' at annual meetingMISSOULA, Mont. (BP) -- Montana Southern Baptist Convention (MTSBC) President Darren Hales described the group's 2016 annual meeting as having the "feel of a missions conference and the impact of a revival service."
Southern Baptist Convention President Steve Gaines spoke during the meeting and "stoked the fire for spiritual renewal through prayer," Hales said.
