    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BP)--A child sexual molestation victims' group apologized to Southern Baptist leaders Feb. 22 for making false accusations that leaders had not responded to the group's letters.

  • SBC missionary Kay Garvin wounded in Tanzania

    MOSHI, Tanzania (BP)--Southern Baptist missionary Kay Garvin, 56, was shot in the chest by robbers Feb. 23 near Moshi, Tanzania. After being taken to a local clinic to be treated, she was being airlifted to a hospital in Kenya late in the evening.

          Her wound was not thought to be life-threatening, according to reports

    "Amazing Grace," the movie about British abolitionist William Wilberforce, opens this weekend. A committed evangelical, Wilberforce was a member of Parliament who helped lead the movement to abolish the slave trade within the British Empire. Parliament passed such a bill 200 years ago, in 1807.
