  LA MARQUE, Texas (BP)--Kendra Lindsey is legally blind and unable to drive or leave her house alone. Yet her vision for overseas missions is crystal clear.

        This spring, Lindsey and her husband, Rod, and their four children will move away from their home in La Marque, Texas, to Western Europe. There, they will help start churches as Southern Baptist missionaries. If being a missionary seems intimidating to most people, consider filling that role without the ability to see. Read More

  VIENNA, Va. (BP)--In 1998, the church Janet Long attended had no place for her only son Gordon, who has autism.

        “We were about ready to quit church before we came here,” said Long, who has attended the McLean Bible Church since then.

        Gordon, now 14, was completely non-verbal when he began attending the Access Ministry for special needs at the church, located in the Washington-area suburb of Vienna, Va. Today, Gordon has some language, plays hockey in a special league and participates actively in the Beautiful Blessings Sunday School class. Read More

  WINNSBORO, S.C. (BP)--B. Carlisle Driggers, saying “the time has come for me to announce my retirement,” will step aside as executive director-treasurer of the South Carolina Baptist Convention on Feb. 28, 2007, after 15 years at the helm of the nation’s oldest state Baptist convention.

  His will be the second-longest tenure for an executive director in South Carolina. Charles Jones held the position for 17 years, from 1925-42. Read More
