RICHMOND, Va. (BP)--On Pentecost Sunday, May 30, Southern Baptists across America will unite in prayer asking God to help 43 million people in seven countries of the Arab world understand how much He loves them.
"Beyond the Wall: Loving the Peoples of the Arabian Peninsula" marks the 17th year for such a focused, 24-hour prayer effort, said Wendy Hines, associate director of the International Mission Board's prayer strategy office. The effort spotlights a different people group each year.
"The people of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Yemen are in need of Jesus," Hines said. "Believers are few, and the church is virtually nonexistent. Those who do follow Christ keep their faith secret in order to remain part of the community. Read More
